How private label beverage manufacturing works

A private label beverage project moves from a brief to a formula, through compliance and testing, to a trial batch and then commercial production. Here is each step, what you provide, and what we arrange. You can join at any step, for example if you already have a formula.

What are the eight steps from idea to launch?

  1. 1

    Brief and positioning

You describe the drink, audience, price band, pack format and expected volumes. We challenge assumptions early, because decisions here shape cost and timeline.

  2. 2

    Formula development

Our own lab builds prototypes, runs tasting rounds with you and refines the formula until it matches the brief.

  3. 3

    Stability and testing

Shelf-life planning and laboratory testing, arranged through partner labs, confirm the drink is safe, stable and correctly labelled.

  4. 4

    Choosing the production route

We assess your pack format and volumes and recommend where to produce, then shortlist suitable FSSAI-licensed partner plants.

  5. 5

    Licensing and compliance

Your brand needs its own FSSAI registration or licence. We arrange licensing support and review the formula for compliance.

  6. 6

    Labelling and packaging

We prepare compliant label content and arrange label production and packaging in time for the production slot.

  7. 7

    Trial batch and commercial production

A pilot run proves taste, fill quality and shelf life. After approval, commercial production follows with agreed quality checks.

  8. 8

    Launch support

Practical help on pricing, channels and the first reorders.

Where do you start?

  • Idea only: begin at step 1 and take the full journey
  • Formula ready: start at production route, licensing and labelling
  • Brand and label ready: we arrange the plant and the trial batch
  • Only need a licence, a lab report or a label review: take just that service

What do you need to get started?

  • A short description of the drink and the customer you are targeting
  • Your target retail price and rough monthly volume
  • Preferred pack format, such as cans, PET or glass, if you have one
  • Any claims you want to make, such as zero sugar or high protein
  • Your launch timeline

What affects how long it takes?

Time depends on how many formula rounds you need, how quickly licensing is processed, packaging lead times and the availability of production slots at the plant. Cans and printed packaging usually take longer to arrange than stock formats. We give you a realistic plan for your project at the start and flag any risks early.

Common questions

How long does a private label beverage project take?
It depends on the number of formula rounds, licensing, packaging lead times and plant availability. We map a timeline for your project after the first conversation and update it as decisions are made.
Can I join the process midway?
Yes. If you already have a formula, a brand or a plant, we start from the step that suits you.
Who runs the trial batch?
A partner plant runs it, and we coordinate the specification and review the result with you.
What happens after the trial batch?
Once you approve it, commercial production is scheduled with agreed quality checks, and we coordinate packaging and delivery.
